The question bank: build it once, use it every term

12 June 2026·6 min read
A question bank built carefully at the start of the year runs your CBT exams, powers every student's revision session, and feeds the AI — all at once.
Most teachers who use computer-based testing think of question creation as exam prep — something you do in the two weeks before the assessment. Terma's question bank is designed to invert that habit. Every question in the Terma bank carries three tags: topic, subtopic, and difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard). A well-tagged question for SS2 Further Mathematics looks like: Topic = Trigonometry, Subtopic = Sine Rule, Difficulty = Medium. When you run a CBT assessment from the question bank, the engine draws a unique question set for each student — same topic distribution and difficulty spread, different specific questions. A student opening their personalised revision session before an upcoming exam is not getting a generic practice paper. The system knows, from their previous assessment performance, which specific topics they scored low on and which they have already mastered. Build 15–20 questions per topic as you teach each topic — not at exam time. Tag every one carefully. By the time the exam arrives, the bank is ready, the revision engine is fuelled, and the question draws are genuinely randomised.
